Carlos Landaeta, DDS

landaetaDr. Carlos Landaeta is an assistant professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, School of Dentistry. Dr. Landaeta was born in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela. In 2002, he obtained his dental degree from the GMA University at Barcelona, Venezuela. He worked at the Luis Razetti University Hospital with a cleft lip and palatal charitable foundation adjoined to the Maxillofacial and plastic surgery department (Fundamigos HLP Barcelona, Venezuela) providing treatment to low income patients with dentofacial deformities. In 2004, he was accepted to do an Advanced Training (Fellowship) in Maxillofacial trauma at the Penitena Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil under the mentoring of Dr. Sylvio de Moraes.

In 2006, he was accepted to do his residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. After that, he returned to Venezuela where he worked as a Maxillofacial Surgeon at his own private practice, and continued his work with Fundamigos HLP. Dr Landaeta moved to San Antonio in 2013 and he joined to the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery in 2014. Dr Landaetas fields of interests are facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, dental implant, among others. His hobbies include; Music, movies, soccer, football, basketball. He is married to Dr. Ana M. Lavermicocca who is an orthodontist and she is pursuing another degree in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas in San Antonio. They have a two year old son
